Congratulations to the Sandy Lake crew members who were part of the Chaotic Chicks Women’s Community Dragon Boat team. On June 13, they competed at the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival on Little Lake. The team raised more than $19,000.

Overall, the event raised more than $306,000.00 to help support the Peterborough Regional Health Centre invest in new state-of-the-art equipment and technology to serve more cancer patients, support earlier diagnosis and provide safer, more effective treatments closer to home.

There were 69 teams competing in various categories. The Chaotic Chicks were in the Community Women’s category. Those pictured are Buckhorn area residents. There were 20 people in their boat.

When racing in the first two heats, they competed with teams from different categories (eg. Mixed Community), but it was their time that determined if they proceeded to the next level. They made it to the........
