James Talarico’s ‘World Without Prisons’ Dream Would Be A Nightmare

Perhaps the leftist Texas Senate candidate has such a soft spot in his heart for criminals because he himself has had some trouble with the law.

In 2022, leftist Texas Senate candidate James Talarico jumped on board the defund-the-police train, arguing for diverting law enforcement funding to social programs. He told inmates at a behind-bars High School graduation ceremony that he wanted to see a “world without prisons,” and that he would work to “make prisons obsolete.” 

“My experience as a teacher, as a legislator, and as a Christian tells me that birds don’t belong in cages. Children don’t belong in cages. People don’t belong in cages,” Talarico said in his Ferguson Prison graduation speech. 

In the same speech the Democrat argued that, “Poverty is violence. Pollution is violence. And, yes, prison is violence.” 

‘Immersed In A Hot Liquid’

You know what is real violence? Violence. Violence committed by many of the violent criminals serving time at the men’s prison in Midway, Texas, where a rising star in far-left Lone Star State’s politics gave his talk on how unfair the “system” is. 

Prisoners like Carlnelus Delaney Simmons, a very violent man serving a 99-year sentence for murdering his girlfriend’s 16-month-old boy. According to prison records and the website Abuse Angels, Simmons “deliberately dipped” Jabraylon Quintez Bables “into a pot of boiling water.”

“Jabraylon survived the initial burning. But his suffering did not end that day. He spent the following 36 days fighting for his life. The burns caused catastrophic damage to his tiny body,” Abuse Angels notes on its website. 

According to the case file, doctors reported that the nature of the burns indicated that the toddler had been “immersed in a hot liquid and that the burns were not accidental.”

“In the doctors’ opinion, it appeared the toddler had been immersed in the liquid wearing a diaper, which leaked a little causing the burn to his buttock, and had folded........
