Trump says more Iran strikes coming today
President Trump told reporters on Wednesday that the U.S. military could continue strikes against Iran after targeting about two dozen sites, mostly near the Strait of Hormuz, in retaliatory attacks on Tuesday.
Trump said he still wanted to work toward a “meaningful deal” with Iran but wasn’t done punishing Iran for shooting down an Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week.
“So, we’ll see what happens, but we hit them hard yesterday, and we’re going to hit them again hard today, in case you missed it, in case you don’t turn on your television set — and we’ll see what happens with the deal,“ the president told reporters in the Oval Office.
“We were really close to a deal but they keep tapping us along, they keep playing us for suckers,” he added.
The U.S. Central Command, which oversees operations in the Middle East, said on Tuesday night that it had completed strikes in response to the downed Apache.
