Bitcoin slips below $80,000 as AI concerns and Fed caution hit crypto

The largest cryptocurrency dipped as much as 1.4% to under $79,300 as investors awaited the Fed's Wednesday decision

Bitcoin slid under $80,000 on Monday, with investors wary before the Federal Reserve's policy meeting and waiting on big tech earnings for hints about the AI trade.

The largest cryptocurrency shed as much as 1.4%, sinking below $79,300, then recovered part of that drop and changed hands near $80,300 in early New York trading. Smaller tokens, among them Ether, XRP and Solana, slid as well.
