This question often spikes when external check boxes, such as career advancement, parenting roles, and the importance of professional titles, begin to fade or shift. This gives space for us to question our lives and whether we matter. This isn't because we haven't been doing anything consequential. It's because everyday impact is easy to forget. And, we don't tend to count everyday impact when we are busy checking boxes. It is a shift from a focus on others to a focus on ourselves.
