I am a tax-paying citizen, and I want to express how vehemently opposed I am to the government’s proposal to buy two used diesel-powered generators to increase the power supply to Islanders and Island businesses.

In this day and age, fossil-fuel is definitely not the way to go (not to mention the fact that, of all the fossil fuels, diesel fuel is perhaps the most expensive!), and will inevitably and exponentially increase the cost of electricity for Islanders.

Our sister city of Summerside generates approximately 60 per cent of its electricity through local renewable resource........
