Just as many of us were beginning to regain confidence in an improved Northumberland Ferries (NFL) service following its disastrous 2025 season, the company’s management has once again left customers deeply disappointed by its decisions.
On Monday, Aug. 17, we had a reservation for the 1:30 p.m. sailing from Caribou to Wood Islands. While we were checked in and waiting at the terminal, the Northumberland arrived but was subsequently moved to another berth because of a technical problem. We, along with approximately 150-plus other vehicles, were advised by terminal officials that the 1:30 crossing had been cancelled.
