Lyrics to a Rufus Wainwright song from 2007 that I listened to during a run this weekend. And again in my earbuds as I was hitting balls at the range. It’s always been a playlist favourite. But the meaning of the words have changed forever. “I am so tired of you America.” Couldn’t have said it or sung it better. I am both tired of America and, sadly, tired of American golf.

The craziness that is going on in the country to the south of us, is creeping into my golf world and it is the source of much discomfort. I can’t seem to separate it from my golf. I know I’m not alone here, and I need to talk about it.

For many of us golfers here in Canada, the United States looms........
