PAKISTAN is currently facing several serious economic challenges with inflation emerging as one of the most pressing and sensitive issues.

The continuous rise in the prices of essential commodities, frequent increases in petroleum prices, higher electricity and gas tariffs and the imposition of new taxes have made life extremely difficult for ordinary citizens. The middle and lower-income segments of society are the worst affected and for many families, even arranging two meals a day has become a daunting task.
