Revolt against plans for 150 affordable homes in middle class village grows
Saffron Housing wants to build the new estate on the edge of Thorpe End, an enclave of high-end properties on the western fringe of Norwich.
Locals in the village have been resisting the 152-home scheme since the plans were first unveiled in August.

They have launched a campaign group to try and stave off the proposals, which they say threaten the appearance and character of the garden village which was created in the 1930s to attract Norwich's middle classes.
They now have an ally in the form of councillors in neighbouring Thorpe St Andrew, who have also come out against the plans.
