Suzuki has confirmed that it is developing direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine aimed at emerging markets, and India could be benefiting from the mill.

New Delhi: Suzuki Motor Corporation has confirmed that it is working on a new direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine aimed at emerging markets. In fact, they have identified India as one of the key destinations. The new powertrain is being built to deliver better performance while also reducing fuel consumption. 

The engine is part of Suzuki’s broader efforts to make internal-combustion powertrains more efficient as the company expands its work on hybrids and electric vehicles.

Suzuki referred to the upcoming powertrain as DITC during a recent technology presentation. India was specifically mentioned among the markets for which the engine is being developed. However, the brand has not yet revealed important........
