BIS Ghaziabad raids units over alleged misuse of ISI Mark, seizes 730 helmets and 1,158 LPG regulators

The Bureau of Indian Standards carried out two raids in Ghaziabad and seized hundreds of helmets and more than 1,100 LPG regulators over alleged violations of the BIS Act. Officials said legal action will follow, with penalties that may include jail and heavy fines.

The Bureau of Indian Standards has carried out two enforcement raids in Ghaziabad over the alleged misuse of the ISI Mark on helmets and LPG regulators. The action led to the seizure of 730 helmets, 4,646 pieces of helmet packaging material and 1,158 LPG regulators.

The raids were conducted on September 10 by the BIS Ghaziabad Branch Office with support from teams from Delhi and Noida. Officials said the searches were carried out under Section 28 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,........
