Flydubai captain Smit Machchhar suffered a depressed skull fracture and serious head and hand injuries after his co-pilot attacked him during a flight to Tel Aviv with doctors treating him in Saudi Arabia before further care in Abu Dhabi.

New Delhi: Fresh medical details about the cockpit attack on flydubai flight FZ1073 have revealed the extent of injuries suffered by Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian pilot who helped prevent the aircraft from going down after being attacked by his co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami.

The details shared by the sources suggest that the attack was far worse than it initially appeared and the co-pilot had intended to kill the captain with a crash axe.
