Jake Oram, from Bungay, struck the pothole on Church Road in Ringsfield, near Beccles, on February 2, damaging a wheel and tyre on his vehicle and leaving him with a hefty repair bill.

The pothole, which was located next to a designated passing place on the narrow country road, was later repaired by Suffolk Highways.

However, more than four months after submitting a claim for compensation, Mr Oram said the council had denied liability for the damage.
