Catherine Moore died in Addenbrookes Hospital on June 3, days after being involved in a three-vehicle crash with a lorry and an army Land Rover on the A11 at Icklingham, just past the Fiveways roundabout at Barton Mills.

The army Land Rover was being driven by Jack Coker, then a Lance Corporal with the British Army.

During the course of her inquest at Suffolk Coroners’ Court in May, Mr Coker said that he had carried out the necessary “first parade” checks before setting off, which included taking the vehicle on a short test drive.

He said that initially, the drive seemed entirely normal. However, the Land Rover “started shaking” when he attempted to overtake a lorry on the A11, which was being driven by William Marks.

Mr Coker told the court: “It felt like nothing was working. If I would correct to the right, it felt like it would have a bigger reaction towards the left.”........
