UK’s Jeremy Corbyn set to be appointed parliamentary head of far-left Your Party

Former UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is expected to be appointed parliamentary head of Your Party, the far-left political party he founded with fellow former Labour MP Zarah Sultana, after his bloc easily won the majority of the seats up for grabs on the party’s central executive committee.

Your Party said that 25,347 people voted in Thursday’s central executive committee (CEC) elections, amounting to over 61% of the party’s roughly 41,000 members.

Corbyn’s bloc, “The Many,” won 14 of the 24 available seats on the committee, while Sultana’s “Grassroots Left” slate picked up just seven. The remaining three went to independent candidates not aligned with either of the two leaders’ blocs.

Twenty of the 24 seats will be filled by women, and the CEC will now be tasked with filling key leadership posts, including chair, treasurer, and party spokesperson.

Corbyn, following his bloc’s victory, declared it was now time for “the real work” to begin, and to come together to overpower “the fear, divisiveness, and racism” of the hard-right Reform UK party.

“I am delighted that members have voted for a mass, socialist party that takes the fight to [Prime Minister Keir] Starmer and [Reform leader Nigel] Farage,” Corbyn said in quotes carried by British media. “Now the real work begins. We have a precious opportunity to unite our movement around a bold vision for this country – one that creates a more caring, equal and peaceful world for all.”

Sultana, in response to the results, acknowledged that this was not the result she had been hoping for, but stressed that she remained committed to “building a socialist, anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist party that is democratic, member-led, and focused on delivering real material change for our communities.”

Despite immediately garnering the public’s attention and the support of over 40,000 members, Your Party has been mired in near-constant controversy, including allegations of sexism, the expulsion of delegates from its first-ever party conference, and public rows between Sultana and Corbyn.

According to The Guardian, there is also currently an ongoing legal dispute between the two founders over the funds raised by Your Party in its early days.

Both Corbyn and Sultana have long made anti-Zionism a core tenet of their political ideologies, and Corbyn’s tenure as Labour leader was riddled with accusations of rampant antisemitism within the party.

The Jewish Labour Movement has previously cited, among other actions, Corbyn’s writing a foreword to a book that claimed Jews control banks and media, expressing support for a self-described Holocaust denier, and laying a wreath at the graves of Palestinian terrorists who murdered 11 Israeli athletes in the 1972 Munich Olympics, as evidence of antisemitism from the 76-year-old socialist.

Corbyn was suspended from the Labour Party in 2020 following a report into how antisemitism complaints were handled under his leadership, which he refused to fully accept. He was expelled altogether four years later, after announcing that he would be standing as an independent candidate in the 2024 general election.

Sultana resigned from the Labour Party in 2025 after previously having been suspended for going against her party whip on a child benefits policy vote. Hours after resigning, Sultana announced that she would be joining Corbyn in forming a new far-left political party.

Accusations of antisemitism have followed Corbyn even after the end of his tenure as Labour leader, as he continues to vocally and vehemently speak out against Israel’s actions in Gaza during its two-year war against Hamas, sparked by the terror group’s October 7, 2023, assault on southern Israel.

Most recently, the Islington North MP was accused earlier this week of engaging in blood libel after he claimed in a video that the IDF has been opening up the bodies of women killed in Gaza and removing their organs.

Corbyn claimed in the video that he spoke last week with the director of Gaza’s Al Shifa Hospital, whom he said told him that the hospital had received a delivery from the IDF of “a large number of boxes, 60 or 70 boxes.”

“They opened the boxes,” Corbyn said, “and each one contained the skull of a Palestinian who had been killed.”

He said that the hospital also received a “delivery of bodies of dead women in Gaza that had been opened and some of the organs removed,” and asserted that “That is what is happening to the people of Palestine. This is the cause of our age.”

There are some who maybe still claim Jeremy Corbyn isn’t an antisemite. But he is one of a number of openly antisemitic Jew haters sitting as MPs.That is frightening. The Corbyn video was first published on Instagram by Wear the Peace, a self-described ethical clothing brand that donates a portion of its profits to various humanitarian causes.

Shifa Hospital, in Gaza City, is on the Hamas-controlled side of the Gaza ceasefire line, meaning IDF troops withdrew from the area in October 2025. While the bodies of Palestinians held by Israel have been returned to Shifa ahead of burial since then, the handovers are facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the last one was on January 29.

In response to Corbyn, IDF International Spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani wrote on X: “What happened to fact-checking before spreading a wild blood libel?”

Pointing out that “IDF soldiers haven’t been anywhere near the Shifa hospital in months,” Shoshani said that “the ’cause of our generation’ is double-checking claims and not believing journalists who spread crazy baseless stories.

“The IDF operates in accordance with international law and strict internal directives that prohibit such conduct,” he added of the claims. “The return of bodies to Gaza is carried out through international coordination and with the assistance of the Red Cross.”
