The strike at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, run by ammo manufacturer Olin Winchester, has ended after slightly more than a month.

More than 1,300 workers at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) in Independence, Missouri, will return to the production lines, ending a major headache for the Pentagon.

The Lake City facility is the primary supplier of small-caliber ammunition to the United States military. The workers, members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Local 778, walked out against operator Olin Winchester over wage, mandatory overtime, and contract disputes on April 4.
