Guilfoyle asked GOP donor to wire her $100k for AmEx bill: WSJ report

Days before her confirmation hearing last year, U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle asked one of President Trump’s donors to wire her American Express account $100,000, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

“You could just send it here. It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” she wrote to Eric Deters on Signal, the Journal reported. “Please.”

Guilfoyle also sent Deters instructions on how to wire money to her American Express account and called the Trump donor twice, according to the outlet.The then-nominee to lead the U.S. Embassy asked Deters to wire her the money on July 3, 2025, six days before her confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

The panel greenlit her nomination in a 13-9 vote, and the full Senate confirmed her nomination via a 51-47 tally in September of last year.
