Bonus Facebook settlement payments are going out, but people aren’t impressed

(NEXSTAR) – More payments have been issued from the massive $725 million fund Facebook agreed to pay to settle allegations of privacy issues, but people’s payouts have turned out to be much smaller than that impressive sum.

As the second round of settlement checks started to arrive, people once again realized the class action settlement would not be providing a life-changing amount.

“After seeing the Facebook privacy settlement notification… I will not be retiring from work at this time,” wrote one X user on Wednesday morning.

The median payment was around $6, with some people getting a few dollars more or less.

“A Facebook class action settlement paid me $7.31! However shall I spend it?” said an X user sarcastically.
