MAP: Gas prices dip in 15 states since last weekend
(NEXSTAR) — As the war in Iran continues, prices at the pump largely refuse to come down.
President Trump said he hopes the price of oil and gas will fall in the coming months, telling Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo in an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures” that he thinks the conflict against Iran “won’t be that much longer.”
The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline sits at $4.125 as of Sunday, according to AAA. That’s up slightly from the $4.11 average reported a week ago. Diesel, meanwhile, sits at $5.663 a gallon, up from $5.61 last week.
AAA data shows 15 states have seen gas prices drop since April 5, though some improvements may be more noticeable than others.
With a statewide average of $4.034 a gallon, it’s Florida that has seen prices drop the most since last weekend, falling roughly 17 cents from $4.205. The Sunshine State is the only state to see pump prices fall by more than 10 cents a gallon since Easter Sunday.
In Colorado, the statewide average has fallen roughly 6 cents to $3.767 a gallon.
Other states to see prices fall over the last week include New Jersey, Virginia, Arizona, California, North Carolina, Nevada, Wisconsin, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, West Virginia, Georgia, andRhode Island. With the exception of New Jersey, the price drops were less than five cents.
