Nineteen street vendors in Lucknow now have a little more shade over their heads.

For people who spend long hours by the roadside, selling fruits, vegetables, snacks, tea, or small household items, an umbrella can change the course of a workday. It offers relief from harsh sun, sudden rain, and the exhaustion of standing exposed for hours.

When The Better India shared the story of 22-year-old Khushi Pandey and her work with street vendors, the story touched something deeply human in our community. It was a story about heat, work, dignity, and the people who keep our cities running, often with very little protection themselves.
