State Parks ends nudity at San Gregorio State Beach as it reopens

LATEST Aug. 3, 12:30 p.m. A formerly clothing-optional section of San Gregorio State Beach reopened Wednesday after joining California State Parks, but nudity is no longer allowed, officials said. 

The hidden part of the beach is now under State Parks’ regulations, which went into effect when it reopened, Adeline Yee, a spokesperson for the system, told SFGATE.

“California State Parks is operating the beach consistent with our other public properties,” State Parks said in a statement shared with SFGATE. “... These regulations are intended to provide safe and inclusive recreational opportunities for all visitors and do not include clothing-optional recreation.”

July 14, 10:26 a.m. A popular nude beach along the Bay Area coastline is set to be added to a California state park, officials announced Monday.
