One of California's most famous hot dogs is heading for Tokyo next

It appears as though classic Los Angeles-area hot dog stands can’t stay out of the news of late: From 80-year-old Hot Dog on a Stick being sold to Las Vegas-based Amazing Brands for a cool $8 million cash bid to iconic director James Cameron being spotted downing a dog at its original Santa Monica location, LA’s stands are hotter than an Oscar Mayer hot dog roller.
And now comes an announcement from 87-year-old Hollywood institution Pink’s Hot Dogs. The company, whose location at the corner of Melrose and La Brea avenues still draws daily lines for its celebrity-loved frankfurters, has inked a deal with restaurant group Sunpark to open its first Tokyo location by the end of 2026.
