Rep. Jamie Raskin, ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, launched an investigation Wednesday into Amazon $AMZN, Alphabet $GOOGL's Google, Meta $META Platforms, and Oracle $ORCL over their use of nondisclosure agreements that prevent local government officials from sharing details about proposed data center projects with constituents.
In letters to the four companies, the Maryland Democrat demanded that each hand over its nondisclosure or confidentiality agreements with public officials, disclose projected electricity and water consumption for U.S. data centers, and explain whether those agreements........
