Fed's preferred inflation gauge revised down to 5% in Q2

The Bureau of Economic Analysis also revised second-quarter GDP up to 2.2%, from a prior estimate of 1.5%

The personal consumption expenditures price index rose 5.0% in the second quarter of 2026, revised down 0.3 percentage point from the previous estimate, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported Wednesday in its third estimate of second-quarter gross domestic product.

Core PCE, which strips out food and energy, came in at 3.3% for the quarter, also revised down 0.3 percentage point from the prior estimate.
