Speculation has run rampant throughout the summer that the Winnipeg Jets were exploring a trade involving superstar netminder Connor Hellebuyck. 

Organizations such as the Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, and Florida Panthers were linked to the Jets regarding a potential move. 

On Aug. 26, Hellebuyck ended the speculation by releasing a statement courtesy of his agent Ray Petkau. The statement confirmed that the six foot four, 207 pound goaltender had requested a transaction several months ago, and felt that a change of scenery would be the best path moving forward for himself and his family. 

The 33-year-old Commerce, Michigan-born puckstopper has spent his entire 11-year career with the Jets, after being selected by Winnipeg in round five of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. 

In 625 NHL regular season games, Hellebuyck is 345-208-55 with an impressive 2.58 GAA, .916 save percentage, and 45 shutouts.........
