Guelph Storm look to reload for Memorial Cup run

In 2025-26 the Guelph Storm finished 14th overall in the Ontario Hockey League with 28 wins and 61 points in 68 contests, equating to a .449 win percentage. The club’s leading scorer was overager Ethan Miedema with 47 points.

Although the organization’s 2025-26 OHL campaign could be best described as mediocre, the franchise’s top storyline was anything but.

On Nov. 20, 2025 the Storm were announced as the host city for the 2027 Memorial Cup. They previously hosted the tournament in 2002, when the WHL’s Kootenay Ice were crowned champions. The last time the Memorial Cup was hosted by an OHL team was in 2024 in Saginaw, Michigan when the Saginaw Spirit triumphed on home ice.

In an attempt to bolster his lineup for the upcoming season, with an automatic berth in the Memorial Cup, Storm general manager George Burnett has been busy this off-season revamping his roster via........
