The Spoon Carving Guild is back with monthly meetups planned for the fall and winter. The group meets at the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre, located at 2505 Pioneer Rd. Their next session is Sunday, Oct. 11 from 1 until 4 p.m. followed by further meetups Nov. 8 and Dec. 6.

No sign up is required, these are drop-in events. These are not facilitated workshops, but rather sessions run by volunteers, where folks come to learn and share together. Community members ages 16 and older, either totally new to carving or seasoned carvers, are welcome. Please read the Spoon Carving Guild’s community guidelines before coming. This ensures that everyone can carve safely together.

These guidelines can be found in a pinned post on the group’s Instagram page (@spooncarvingguild). What should you bring? If you have them, bring carving tools, a straight knife, hook knife, and/or an axe. Thanks to the United Way Peterborough the Guild has a bin full of the necessary tools to lend if you do not have your own.

Also, bring along wood for your carving project and any extra you may........
