The characters: ADAM/ALPHONSE (40s): Fast-food owner turned pretentious French restaurateur. Wears a silk ascot that is way too tight. When he rebranded his burger joint into a “French restaurant,” business skyrocketed, so he had to hire staff.

KEVIN (17): Fry cook. Completely zoned out. Wears his baseball cap sideways under a chef’s hat.

CHLOE (16): Cashier/Server. Snapping gum. Permanently glued to her smartphone.

SCENE: The restaurant is pitch-black except for a single spotlight hitting a grease-stained dry-erase board.

ALPHONSE paces like a drill sergeant. KEVIN and CHLOE sit at a booth, wearing crisp new uniforms, looking miserable. KEVIN keeps sneaking looks at CHLOE’S chest.

ALPHONSE (clapping hands loudly): “Listen up! The Burger Barn era is dead. We are now a sanctuary of high cuisine. But the illusion fails if you two sound like you’re ordering from a drive-thru in Tillsonburg. Today, we master the French accent.........
