FOR more than two decades, Pakistan has remained on the frontlines of the fight against terrorism. Thousands of civilians, soldiers, police officers and security personnel have sacrificed their lives to protect the nation from violent extremism. Despite these immense challenges, Pakistan has made remarkable progress in restoring peace and stability. Today, the country has an opportunity to consolidate these hard-earned gains through a comprehensive and forward-looking national security strategy.

The Pakistan Army has played a pivotal role in this national effort. Through sustained counterterrorism operations, intelligence-based actions and close coordination with other security institutions, numerous terrorist networks have been dismantled and areas once affected by militancy have gradually returned to normalcy.
