Trump’s awful IRS ‘settlement’ is dead
When Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche goes before the Senate today for his confirmation hearing to be Donald Trump’s permanent AG, both Democrats and Republican senators must question him vigorously under oath about the stinks-to-high-heaven deal he crafted to settle Trump’s self-serving lawsuit against the IRS with a self-serving agreement that a judge just eviscerated.
Florida Federal Judge Kathleen Williams on Monday issued a decision fully unwinding Trump’s settlement with the IRS that packed a one-two punch against our democratic systems and basic decency by attempting to set up a nearly $1.8 billion slush fund to pay Jan. 6 insurrectionists and other supposed victims of government weaponization while giving Trump and his friends, family and business interests pretty much blanket retroactive immunity from tax inquiries.
