Global debate comes to Norwich thanks to former Army chief and war correspondent
Pranvera Shema Smith, who co-founded London’s Frontline Club, hopes to bring the kind of high-profile conversations usually reserved for the capital to audiences in Norfolk.

The event, To Lose a War: Afghanistan Five Years On, will bring together former head of the British Army General Lord Richard Dannatt and acclaimed American war correspondent Jon Lee Anderson, who has reported from Afghanistan since the 1980s.

For Ms Shema Smith, whose journalism career began in the aftermath of the Kosovo war, Afghanistan is a subject with deeply personal significance.
