BAI issues clarification after Danish shuttler Mia Blichfeldt's complaints over India Open facilities
New Delhi: Hours after Danish shuttler Mia Blichfeldt launched a scathing criticism of the playing conditions at the venue of the India Open Super 750 tournament, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) issued a strong rebuttal through an official statement, stating that the player was referring to the general playing conditions and personal health sensitivities, and not about the playing arena at the Indira Gandhi Stadium.
Following her opening round win, Mia, for the second consecutive year, slammed the organisers of the India Open for the pollution and unhealthy playing conditions, and said that despite the change in venue from KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium to IG Stadium, the conditions remain “unhealthy and unprofessional”.
