Tesla’s Model Y cross 1,000 units in India; brand continues to increase touchpoints

Tesla has achieved 1,000-unit sales milestone in India just over a year after launching in the market. The increase comes following Tesla reducing the price of the Model Y Premium RWD by Rs 9 lakh in May.

New Delhi: Tesla has gone past the 1,000-unit sales milestone in India just a little more than a year after launching in the market. The company currently sells only the Model Y in the country, with data from the Vahan portal showing 1,017 units delivered between September 2025 and October 2, 2026.

September 2026 was Tesla India’s strongest month so far, with 291 Model Y units registered. That makes for a 322 per cent increase over the 69 units sold in September 2025. Sales also climbed 149 per cent compared with August 2026, when Tesla recorded 117 registrations.
