BRICS Summit rehearsal in Delhi on September 2: Check roads restricted, routes open

Delhi will see major traffic diversions on September 2 during a BRICS Summit motor carcade rehearsal from 10 am to 3 pm. Several routes around Connaught Place, Dhaula Kuan, Lodhi Road, Mathura Road and Bharat Mandapam will be regulated, with alternate routes listed for airport and railway station travel.

New Delhi: Delhi commuters could face traffic diversions across central and south Delhi on Wednesday, September 2, as authorities conduct a motor carcade rehearsal ahead of the BRICS Summit 2026. The traffic measures will remain in force from 10 am to 3 pm, with the movement centred around Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan.

The Delhi Traffic Police advisory lists 22 diversion points and says traffic will be regulated across more than 35 roads. Several major stretches around Connaught Place, India Gate, Lodhi Road, Mathura Road, diplomatic areas and routes approaching Pragati Maidan will be affected. Commuters have been advised to use public transport and keep extra travel time for railway stations and the airport.
