There is no Jesus in our daily life?

Growing concern over young people becoming disconnected from church life has sparked calls for stronger engagement from priests, religious sisters, families and parish communities. The report argues that rebuilding trust, participation and a sense of belonging could help bring children and young adults closer to faith and community life.

The people who see power and position as the purpose of priesthood are the ones who are creating these painful situations. They seem to forget that priesthood is not a profession—it is a holy vocation, a call to serve God and His people. Human life must always be valued, and the dignity of this sacred vocation must never be lost.

The images and reports of few incidents of violence, whether old or new, involving clashes between pastors, priests, churches, and communities are deeply disturbing. We have to ask ourselves: Where are we going? Why are we becoming so disconnected from one another? Is Jesus truly present in our daily lives?

This is not what we learned from our churches, our catechism classes, or our Christian communities. We learned about forgiveness, compassion, humility, service, and love.
