The protest was held in Leverington, near Wisbech, where the Home Office wants to move migrants into Roman Court, a former sheltered housing complex.

The event was organised by Reform councillor Chris Tirrell, who represents the village on the county council.

Mr Tirrell, who lives and works in the village, said he was pleased with the way the protest went and is organising what he believes will be a larger one on Sunday, which he believes at least 1,000 people may attend.
