East Anglian tourism businesses fear overnight levy could deter visitors
Three-quarters of businesses surveyed for regional accountancy firm Larking Gowen’s Tourism Business Survey, published in May, feared an overnight visitor levy would harm them.
Some 58 per cent feared the levy would cut overnight stays.

The Government has confirmed that mayors and local leaders in England can introduce an overnight visitor levy, charging guests a percentage of their accommodation costs to fund local investment.
Joanna Burton, tourism director at regional accountancy firm Larking Gowen, warned against treating hospitality as a cash cow.
