The Times has included Felbrigg Hall in a round-up of National Trust sites, describing it as a perfect spot for a spring day out.

The publication said the north Norfolk garden, situated in the 17th-century estate, is "beginning its spring transformation".

"The dovecote-lined walled garden is a highlight, with colourful borders, herb beds and historic fruit trees, plus early wildflowers and spring bulbs," it added.

For people wanting to make a day of their visit, they can stop for a bite to eat at The Squire's Pantry, which offers everything from afternoon tea to ice cream that can be enjoyed in the courtyard.

The colourful plants are not the only thing to look out for when exploring the grounds, as it is home to an abundance of wildlife, such as robins, goldfinches, blackbirds and great spotted woodpeckers.

Felbrigg’s orchard and woodland edges will also soon burst into life with blossom, bluebells and birdsong as the spring commences.
