The new organisation, the UK Maritime Regions Network, brings together representatives from Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Mersey, Northern Ireland, North Yorkshire, Scotland, the Short Straits, Solent, the South West, Tees and the Humber.

It aims to amplify regional maritime intelligence and improve engagement with policymakers, industry and national maritime organisations.

Stuart Baker, chief executive of Maritime Solent, has been elected inaugural chair of the UK Maritime Regions Network.
