In Part I of the same title, “The Evolving Strategic Landscape-I”, published in the Daily Times on August 31, 2026, I argued that “the strategic landscape has been evolving at a rapid pace, particularly since the US’ withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2020. The events which have taken place since then cannot be replicated at any other time.” In this short article, I will continue to highlight the significance of the evolving strategic landscape due to ever-increasing wars and conflicts since the US’s withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2020.

In Part II of the same title, “The Evolving Strategic Landscape-I”, published in the Daily Times on September 7, 2026, I argued that “Iran’s misadventure, like Afghanistan, has further exposed the US’ ability to unilaterally tame a country. Iran, despite losing its spiritual, political, and military leadership, remains resolute in its stance and continues to respond against Israeli targets on their soil and US targets in the Middle East. The Iranian attacks on the brotherly countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait cannot be supported under any pretext, even if it is against the US target based in these countries. However, Iran’s retaliatory strikes against US targets in the GCC have further exposed its power to dominate global affairs.”
