Rising Nu-Metal Band Killed in Building Collapse Caused by Earthquake

All members of rising Venezuelan nu-metal band Van Der Dijs were killed during the deadly June 23 earthquakes in the South American country.

A devastating earthquake struck Venezuela on June 23, 2026. The tragedy has left over 1,700 people dead and at least 43,000 with unknown whereabouts. We have learned that the four members of rising nu-metal act Van Der Dijs were among the deceased.

According to a report from BBC News, two back-to-back earthquakes hit the city of La Guaira and its surrounding areas. The first registered a magnitude of 7.2, and the second hit a 7.5 magnitude.
