Opposition Keeps Pressure on Govt: No House Debate Until Pradhan Resigns; Symbolic Visit to Gandhi Smriti

New Delhi: The opposition on Thursday (July 23) kept the pressure on the government both inside and outside parliament amid the ongoing youth protest, by insisting that no discussion can take place in parliament until Union education minister resigns, and later taking out a symbolic visit to Gandhi Smriti on Tees January Marg, where Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated, expressing solidarity with the students who met with brutal police action on Monday.
“Our leader Mahatma Gandhi ji was assassinated over here. Today, the Modi government is assassinating democracy in India, brutalising students, and beating students. The opposition is not going to accept this. We are with the students, and Mr. Narendra Modi has to remove the education minister and apologise,” said leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi to reporters at Gandhi Smriti.
Gandhi was joined by other opposition MPs from the Left parties, TMC, RJD, JMM among others, except DMK and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who were not present at the march. The opposition leaders paid tributes to the students who had died by........
