I was finishing my Amy’s frozen dinner on the countertop in our kitchen when I first read of Joe Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis.

My first reaction was the thought that G-d gives some families so much suffering that they somehow rise above that it’s almost unimaginable. My second thought was “Oh, G-d, what are they going to do to him now?”

It didn’t take the eldest son of our current president long before he advanced a conspiracy theory, claiming Biden’s wife (who is a doctor of education, not medicine) should have noticed something and that Biden had been ill all along.

He didn’t seem aware that prostate cancer can go undetected when there are no noticeable symptoms. The official story was that Biden had experienced urinary problems, a routine exam was made and a nodule was found. Surgery was not recommended because the cancer has spread to his bones.

Laura Loomer, the chief influencer/QAnon supporter/gossip monger stated that Biden would be dead in two years.

When I read these vile takes on a man I admire and on a disease that I abhor, I was struck by the truly callous and feckless nature of the responses. They completely passed the “sorry to hear this” phase and went straight to “You lied to us!” This coming from a group of people who seem to lie on a continual basis about almost everything. It would be hilarious if it weren’t so malicious.
