(NEXSTAR) – Fall is just around the corner, but summer weather may be sticking around a little while longer. A seasonal outlook released by national forecasters on Thursday shows most of the country is expected to see warmer-than-average weather over the next three months.

The long-range forecast, produced by NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, shows all but a few states leaning toward hotter-than-normal temperatures between September and November. The Pacific Northwest is most likely to see above-average weather, according to the map.

The future is murkier for a handful of states shown in white on the map below. Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia have about equal........
