(NEXSTAR) – It’s not just chicken chains and massive travel centers that are expanding. Warehouse giant Costco is on track to open more than a dozen new stores in the next few months, many of which will be throughout the U.S.

With these new warehouses will undoubtedly come the popular Kirkland items that Costco cut prices on earlier this year, a new food court item, a new option for its $1.50 hot dog combo, and its usually cheaper fuel.

Costco has been experiencing a bit of a growth spurt this year, already opening stores in Arizona, California, Florida, Minnesota, New York, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin (as well as Mexico and Taiwan).

In March, CEO Ron Vachris said the company aims to open 30 or more warehouses annually over the next five to 10 years, echoing remarks from CFO Gary Millerchip. Roughly half would be new warehouses in the U.S., while the........
