“On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.” 

Narcissistic “Covid czar” Dr. Anthony Fauci sounded more machine than man during his tense appearance Wednesday before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. With each “respectfully decline” — Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times — you could sense the blood boiling in committee chairman Rand Paul’s veins. The Kentucky Republican’s committee colleagues on the right appeared to grow more and more incensed.

Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), spent the Covid years making love to his ego and the omnipresent cameras, his diary informs us. He was the “expert” who demanded Americans “follow the science” and then lied about the science. Again and again. 

Fauci lied. People died.

Six years. For six long years Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, had waited for this moment. His chance to ask Fauci the question so many of his fellow Americans have wanted to ask. Moreno asked it. Profanely, but he asked it nonetheless. 

“It was about six years ago today that I decided ‘I’m going to give up my businesses, sell them all, run for office, run for the United States Senate,’” the first-term senator told the old NIAID director, at one time the highest-paid employee in the federal government.  

“Here I am sitting in front of you six years later saying, ‘Who the f–k do you think you were for doing that?’”

Tiffany Justice reveled in that moment, in that question. 

“I think the senators were channeling the anger of the American people,” she told me Thursday in an interview on the Dan O’Donnell Show.
