CBS News’ 60 Minutes introduced viewers to the wife and two children of a deported illegal alien Sunday, but what it conveniently left out of its sob story is that this illegal alien sought protection from deportation by claiming he feared persecution for homosexuality.

“It feels really empty without him,” Corey Diawara told CBS News’ 60 Minutes when talking about his father, Moussa, who was deported this past July.

But what CBS News failed to tell the audience is that, according to the Department of Homeland Security, Diawara claimed he couldn’t be deported back home to Mali because he feared persecution for homosexuality, a claim that’s quite curious given he’s married to a woman and has two children.
