We, the humans, are afraid

The planet that we live on used to be considered infinite a long time ago. The flat earthers back in the day believed that the earth was flat and there was always more land out there. Many smart people around the same time believed that the earth was a sphere and not flat but that was not a popular opinion entertained in those days. Then came the Magellan's ship around 1520 AD, which circumnavigated the earth and returned with the confirmation that the earth indeed was a sphere and not flat. That in turn, led to the obvious conclusion that there wasn't infinite land out there, rather land was limited. The fear of losing the opportunity of grabbing more land caused humanity to create the idea of real property and deeds to it.

While the Agricultural Revolution around 12,000 years ago did convince mankind to stay in one place and establish cities as opposed to moving from place to place in search of the next meal, they did not lay........
