Trump And Vance Are Right About Immigration Driving Up Home Prices, Mortgage Industry Admits

Mortgage industry lobbyists quietly admitted in a new report that Vice President J.D. Vance and President Donald Trump are right about immigration and its contribution to skyrocketing housing prices. But as lobbyists are wont to do, they are shining a light on the problem to protect their industry, even at the expense of normal people without the means and money to influence policymakers in Washington, D.C.

Trump, Vance, Stephen Miller, and the White House have taken a lot of grief for pointing out that mass immigration affects housing prices.

The White House released a fact sheet in January arguing that deportations were playing a role in driving down housing costs in top metro areas like Austin, San Diego, and San Jose.

Vance raised the point, to great effect, during the 2024 vice-presidential debate against Tim Walz.

“Look, in Springfield, Ohio, and in communities all across this country, you’ve got schools that are overwhelmed, you’ve got hospitals that are overwhelmed, you have got housing that is totally unaffordable because we brought in millions of illegal immigrants to compete with Americans for scarce homes,” he said.
